Christopher Tilton | Pitching Coach, Recruiting Coordinator
Christopher Tilton is in his second season with the Brown University baseball staff in 2023 as an assistant coach and as the team’s pitching coach.
In his first season on College Hill, Tilton coached the Brown pitching staff which ranked second in the Ivy League with a 5.47 ERA and ranked third in opponents batting average. He mentored Third Team All-Ivy reliever Paxton Meyers, who was second in the league with a 2.93 ERA, and First Team All-Ivy honoree Tobey McDonough, who ranked No. 3 in the Ivy League with a 3.17 ERA. In league games, Meyers ranked No. 1 among all Ivy pitchers with a 2.33 ERA.
Known for building cultures of excellence and integrity, Tilton served as the pitching coach at Colby College from 2019-21. Alongside his time at Colby, he gained an array of experience at the collegiate, prep, and summer ball levels.
At Colby, Tilton developed the physical and mental skills of the pitching staff, including through the use of analytics, while also contributing significantly to the team’s recruiting efforts.
Prior to his time at Colby, Tilton served as the head coach at Coe-Brown Northwood Academy in New Hampshire during the 2018 season. He acted as the pitching coach at Belmont Abbey College in North Carolina in 2017 following a stint as the assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at Assumption College in Massachusetts in 2016. Tilton worked as an assistant coach/recruiting coordinator at St. Michael’s College in Vermont during the 2015 season.
Alongside his experiences at the collegiate and prep levels, Tilton has coached multiple teams in collegiate summer baseball leagues. He served as the manager of the Norsemen of the Greater Northeast Collegiate Baseball League from 2018-20. Tilton acted as the manager of the Seacoast Mavericks of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League in the summer of 2015 and worked as the pitching coach for the North Shore Navigators of the FCBL in summer 2014.
A native of Rochester, N.H., Tilton earned a bachelor’s degree in sport management from Southern New Hampshire University in 2014.
Shane Demers | Assistant Coach
Shane Demers is in his first season on the Brown coaching staff in 2024. Demers comes to College Hill following a four-year career as a pitcher and first baseman at Gordon College.
Demers capped a strong senior season in 2023 by earning First Team All-Commonwealth Coast Conference honors and second team all-region honors after batting .336, and leading the Fighting Scots in hits, doubles, and RBIs. He previously earned Second Team All-CCC honors in 2022. Overall, Demers graduated from Gordon as the program’s career leader for runs scored (99), and holds single season records for at bats (149 in 2023), OPS (1.334 in 2021), and slugging percentage (.821 in 2021).
For his work in the classroom, he earned CSC Academic All-District honors in 2023 and was a three-time President’s List honoree.
Demers gained coaching experience as an assistant for Bethel (Conn.) American Legion Post 100 during the summer of 2020.
Off the field, Demers worked as a data operations intern for TrackMan Baseball, collecting data from MILB, college and summer league games and utilizing the data to provide feedback to players. He previously interned with the New Britain Bees of the Futures League during the summer of 2022, assisting in gameday operations, promotions, ticket sales and fan engagement.
Demers graduated from Gordon in May 2023 with bachelor’s degrees in business administration, and recreation, sports and wellness.
Holden White | Assistant Hitting and Assistant Pitching Coach
Holden White is in his second season as an assistant coach at Brown in 2023. White serves as an assistant while working with both Brown's pitchers and hitters.
In his first season on College Hill in 2022, White helped guide Brown's pitching staff to the second-lowest ERA in the Ivy League (5.47), while mentoring three All-Ivy League players.
White came to Brown after a playing career at Eastern Connecticut State, where he posted a career .381/.455/.611 slash line over three seasons for the Warriors. As a senior in 2021, he batted .384 with 38 hits, 24 runs, 26 RBI and four home runs over 31 games, serving as the team’s first baseman. He earned second team all-conference honors and helped lead the nationally ranked Warriors to the NCAA Division III Regionals.
Prior to arriving at Eastern, White played at Wake Forest during his freshman season in 2017. He graduated from Kingswood Oxford School in 2016, where he was ranked as the No. 431 prospect in the nation by Perfect Game, and the top prospect in New England by Prep Baseball Report. He was named a 2016 Rawlings-Perfect Game Honorable Mention All-American and was selected to compete in the Area Code Games in California.
White entered the coaching ranks in the summer of 2021 as an assistant coach for the Norwich Sea Unicorns of the Futures Collegiate Baseball League.
White graduated from Eastern Connecticut State in 2021 with a degree in communications.
